Did you know 'The Fair' is the oldest holiday in the country and also has a church connection? Bishop Jocelin of Glasgow got permission from King William the Lion in 1190 to hold the festivities. Many local businesses and factories closed on 'Fair Friday' to allow workers and their families to holiday "doon the watter".

For the first time in three years, it’s a huge relief to wave off the Hospitality, the Youth Group, the pilgrims and – above all – the sick. Our petitions are going with them and our wishes for a blessed and smooth week.

The famous parable of the Sower sowing seed and how that seed is received and nurtured – or not! It’s a brilliant parable to be thinking about as we reflect in how we can as a parish re-evangelise our community.

Excited to celebrate the marriage of Arlene and Sean here at the Immaculate Conception. Every blessing for the future.

Maryhill Festival & our church pop-up café. This festival is a relatively new but big event, with community groups and services coming together. Its important that we, the local Christian church be there too, so we’re doing one of our special pop ups! Can you help?

Excited to celebrate the marriage of Roisin and Ryan - two parishioners celebrating their wedding at home in Barga. Every blessing for the day and forever.

He was the first to be martyred. He is the patron saint of Spain and, traditionally, his remains are in Santiago de Compostela, the destination of the Camino. He is patron of the British Court and revered among the Kings of Scotland!

Traditionally the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, grandparents of Jesus. Pope Francis constantly reminds us of the huge role of grandparents in family life so let’s remember all grandparents today.

Excited to celebrate the marriage of Rebecca and Andrew – young couple in the parish marrying at Glasgow University Memorial Chapel.
