• Leavers Mass for St Mary’s P7

These young people will be for John Paul Academy after the holidays. Their school values instilled in them the last 7 years will set them up for all that lies ahead!

  • Schools close for summer

Yippee – don’t know who screams that louder – the students or staff! Happy holidays everyone and thanks for all you do for our community.

  • 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)

Jesus reminds us that – even though we are all living fast, busy, often chaotic lives, God protects us and knows us. If God holds the very sparrows – how much you who are so precious!

  • Solemnity of Saints Peter & Paul

The festival that recalls the foundation of the church on the witness and the death of Peter and Paul. This is Fr Jim’s 36th anniversary of ordination – remember a prayer for him

  • Feast of St Benedict

St Benedict, co-patron of Europe, was a monk, writer, and theologian, venerated in the Catholic Church, Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches and also the Anglican communion. He is associated most famously with the monastery at Monte Cassino.

  • Warm Welcome

Our last for the time being as the Glasgow Fair holiday approaches. Huge thanks to Catherine and her team of volunteers for making this truly a warm welcome and roaring success

  • Glasgow Fair Friday

Did you know 'The Fair' is the oldest holiday in the country and also has a church connection? Bishop Jocelin of Glasgow got permission from King William the Lion in 1190 to hold the festivities. Many local businesses and factories closed on 'Fair Friday' to allow workers and their families to holiday "doon the watter".

  • Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes

For the first time in three years, it’s a huge relief to wave off the Hospitality, the Youth Group, the pilgrims and – above all – the sick. Our petitions are going with them and our wishes for a blessed and smooth week.

  • 15th Sunday Ordinary Time

The famous parable of the Sower sowing seed and how that seed is received and nurtured – or not! It’s a brilliant parable to be thinking about as we reflect in how we can as a parish re-evangelise our community.

  • Celebration of Marriage

Excited to celebrate the marriage of Arlene and Sean here at the Immaculate Conception. Every blessing for the future.

  • St Mary Magdalene

First to encounter the Risen Lord, she is also the first evangelist, running to tell the others. Sadly, her role and story haven’t received the prominence deserved in a male dominated institution! May she inspire us in our new evangelisation.
