21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
It’s unfashionable to talk about the judgement. Today’s gospel reminds us that we are called to find fulfilment and salvation by being humble people of service – it’s this narrower road that leads to a fuller life!

He came from Cana in Galilee and followed Jesus. We know little of him, but he may have gone to Persia where he was martyred by being flayed – skinned alive. Did you know that in Michelangelo’s picture of Bartholomew from the Sistine Chapel, in the flayed skin is a picture of Michelangelo himself!

As so often, the gospel turns the values of the world upside down! Followers of Jesus are invited to humility, openness and not seekers of power or the limelight!

The church is closed this week to be redecorated. Weekday Mass will move into the church hall. Please help keep things ticking over in the practical arrangements for each day. Thanks for your patience!

Jesus never promised that discipleship would be a bed of roses. Today Luke tells us clearly that following the Lord means sharing in his cross - every day!

Welcome to the Missionaries of Africa who are here to preach their Mission Appeal (delayed for almost two years because of Covid-19). The second collection will be taken up for them and their work.

A day to remember Mary, our patron, and to rejoice in her birth – remembering the saints, Anne and Joachim.

Church painting will be completed and we will need a team to clean and reassemble the church. Please watch out for more information - thank you!

Congratulations to Maria and Euan who will marry here at the Immaculate Conception. Every blessing for the future!

Thanks to everyone who came and made this a time of grace.

Happy Birthday! Our Together "We Make Maryhill" project is one year old. We are gathering to celebrate all that has been achieved in the first last busy year! Shared lunch and fun for everyone – after worship – gather at Maryhill Ruchill Parish Church from 12.15pm.

Delighted to welcome back those received into the church over the last two years. Dinner and drinks at 7pm in the Chapel House.
