The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary recalls that as she is preserved from sin in her Immaculate Conception, Mary did not taste corruption but instead is assumed bodily into the presence of Jesus for ever. Mass at 10am

Feast of St Bartholomew is one of the 12 apostles and also known as Nathaniel. With Thaddeus he is credited with bringing Christianity to parts of India and to Armenia. He was flayed or skinned alive!

21st Sunday Ordinary Time (A) It’s a consolation to note this great commission is given to imperfect Peter. God does not chose us because we are worthy but because we are loved.

St Augustine of Hippo has a fascinating story of coming to faith and then becoming a great defender of faith. He wrote much, including the influential Confessions. “Our hearts are restless o God until they rest in thee.”
